The transition to a climate-neutral society is both an urgent issue and a chance to create a better future for everyone. The European Green Deal’s final goal is for the EU to become the world’s first “climate-neutral bloc” by 2050.
“Carbon Neutral Schools” will empower educational institutions to develop new competencies in carbon footprint reduction in order to allow students to become mindful citizens in the fight against climate change. Our project will also address the priority of digital transformation through the development of digital readiness, resilience and capacity with the final output of delivering a complete digital tool that shall include interactive E-learning modules, which will boost institutions’ abilities and preparedness to manage an effective transition to digital education.
Project Results
- An E-learning course titled “Organization’s Low Carbon Expert”, available for free to schools, HEIs, vocational schools, as well as all other interested educational organizations in Europe, to begin their own low-carbon education programs based on the adopted introduction course.
- Factor Maps to identify the factors that can assist educational institutions to substantially reduce their carbon footprint.
- A toolkit for Green Ambassadors that will train Ambassadors on how to encourage students and administration to change their behaviour towards climate-neutrality.
