Description
Although, in the last years, there has been an improvement in access to educational research, metacognition is still one of the areas of learning less exploited by students and teachers. Metacognition refers to the ability to analyse and control your own learning process. It is essential in education because allows you to integrate the concepts that have been seen in class more efficiently. Metacognitive skills allow the students to study independently and to be empowered by making them active creators of their learning. Metacognitive strategies improve academic performance and are considered one of the three essential skills that will be needed in the future.
With this project, we aim to support students in developing their metacognition skills with the help of teachers and other professionals. The focus of this project is to strengthen students’ skills when it comes to “learning how to learn”. The position of teachers in this process is to find a suitable strategy for their students since the advantage of metacognition is that it allows everybody to know their own way of learning, showing, and promoting the diversity of learning profiles.
