About the Project
PAGE is a European project co-funded by the Creative Europe program. It aims to transform cognitive accessibility in publishing for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). The project develops innovative tools, books, and cultural activities to ensure equal access to literature and creative expression.
Target groups: People with intellectual and developmental disabilities, parents and families of IDD, but also publishers, editors, educators, social workers, experts in cultural activities…
Expected Results
- Research activities: new research will explore what makes books and cultural activities easier to understand for people with intellectual disabilities.
- Cultural Activities Toolkit: a set of simple and creative reading and writing activities will be designed to match the real needs of people with intellectual disabilities.
- Accessible Books: books will be created to meet the needs of people with intellectual disabilities.
- PAGE App: a user-friendly app will help explain difficult words while reading, making books easier and more enjoyable to read.
